It is now wintertime, although daytime temperatures have been reaching record highs on a daily basis for the past couple weeks. As a change of pace, this weekend the nighttime/early morning temperatures will fall into the low 40s in west Florida, and freezing rain may fall near the panhandle. On saturday, after the low drags the cool air mass across the gulf, we are still looking at a powerful 988 millibar low pressure system in the northeast, and a cold front boundary almost as far south as the Pacific Ocean.
