First Tropical Storm of 2016

Conditions are looking conducive for tropical storm formation near east Florida. An area of low pressure over the Bahamas is expected, within the next 5 days, most likely on Friday/Saturday, to form into a tropical storm.  At the moment the low has been forecast to have a 50 percent chance of turning into a cyclone (Current Cyclone Formation Probabilities).  The storm is expected to approach the Florida coast over the weekend, then take a northward track up the east coast. In the central Florida area the winds are looking light  offshore through the weekend and into Monday, but no significant pulse from the formation of this storm is expected.   It seems, the hurricane season is starting early this year,  much like it did last year.  Let’s hope some solid ones get churning in the near future.
