Cold Front: Surf Forecast (revised)

Over the next week the gulf and east coast will be getting surf.  We’ll start with east Florida and Texas coming up this weekend.  The gradient then relaxes mid week.  Then, next weekend a decent cold front sweeps through the gulf.  It looks like it will be another chest high and bigger wave maker.  More details on the next front later in the week.

First, the front this weekend:

The gulf and Texas could see a little surf, maybe knee high plus.  In the gulf, the surf will be from the northwest on Saturday, offshore winds in the afternoon. Texas swell will be coming front the southeast, also around knee high, possibly bigger.

The east coast will be a bit bigger.  It’s going to be rising behind the cold front this weekend.  A mild cold front will bring up the surf up from the northeast.  The surf’s going to be around chest high for Sunday and Monday.  The winds at the coast after the front are 10mph or less.   Both days are mostly sunny. The water temperature in Cocoa is 68° degrees, and 70° just offshore at Sebastion Inlet. The air temperature during the day will peak just below 75°.
