South Clearwater Jetty

South jetty is one of the best waves in Clearwater, rivaling the famed Sand Key Park.  However this is a fickle wave.  Like many spots in Clearwater this locale picks up a variety of swell directions.  The wave breaks best with a combined super high tide and a swell above waist high.  It performs at its best on west swells and occasionally south swells.  Because much of it’s energy can be removed by its outside sandbar this wave is best surfed on swells no larger than chest high, and the super high tide is mandatory.  This spot is more affected by tide than any other spot in the area.

That little bump is the bowl.
