Clearwater Beach First Cold Front of the Year Gallery Gallery October 8, 2015 Raymond Hess Our first cold front of the year brought 4 days of surf, three days of small but shortboardable waves, and the last day sent waves almost 5 feet at 6 and 7 seconds. Included in this post is a 13 image gallery from the third day. Annual sailboat races based out of the Clearwater sailing center created a picturesque backdrop. Beachgoes were out sharing the waves. We were graced with warm weather to start off the year. Lets hope the season brings four days of surf with every front. With the expanding sand dunes on many beaches, the inevitable growth of plumes of sand spurs looms in the minds of barefoot surfers. Watch out for the brown ones. Waves of downpours dropped the water temps a degree or two.
