According to the park staff here at Honeymoon Island State Park this evening, the park was overwhelmed by the influx of visitors. The park ended up closing its door around noon. Not only did the park shut down. The causeway was shut down as well. Apparently the social distancing policies just couldn’t be enforced. Hopefully this mass influx of people to the beach doesn’t continue over the next couple days while the surf’s up.
