It looks like the model I usually check (linked on this page) is saying about 10 days out a system could spin up just off the gulf coast here. This would be a good situation for us if we want surf. A the closer they are to the coast the better shot we have at waves. It’s not always ideal conditions, but should still be fun. Usually, these close to the coast systems have good days and “bad” days. They tend to have days when the wind is offshore glassy, and well formed waves, the good days. There are days when the wind is onshore and messy condition with bigger waves and the potential for big rides, the bad days. Usually we get a weeks worth of good days and bad days when systems set up close to the coast like this. The amount of good and bad days usually depends on the movement speed of the storm. Ideally a nice slow moving storm cruises down the coast. Hard to say what the tropical season holds for us this year. It will be exciting to watch.
