Epic T-Groin Failure 1:30pm

1:30pm: A storm just rolled in. The storm band was a short quick shot of rain. The high tide seems like a storm surge high tide. I don’t actually think it is. The water is washing into the parking lot again. The surf is rideable, and looks fun at times. No one is out, and there’s still a light drizzle. The size of the surf will drop again for the super low tide. Now or later, who knows. I’m debating now or later. It doesn’t look much bigger than yesterday, still coming in with long waits between set waves.

The imported sand they trucked to the beach or moved from some other place after the dredge seems to be almost gone:

Onshore Surf 1:30pm, 2:30pm, & 7pm

It looks really fun, surprisingly fun. The surf actually looks solid. I’d call it knee to thigh right now with the size to get to waist to chest when the tide drops out. Luckily the tide is dropping now until 7pm. The water level is high so the dropping tide should give it better shape. All afternoon and evening is going to be the time to surf. The low tide is 7pm.

2:30pm: Moon is trash right now. I can’t deal with northwest swells at Honeymoon. It’s just so mushy. I’m headed to the key 🔑. Oh wait, Tommy just rolled up. We’re surfing here I think.

7pm: The swell has glassed off. Surprisingly the size of the surf has actually dropped. The tide has falled super low. The super low tides aren’t great for anywhere around here. It’s still windy but it’s directly onshore so the waves are glassy. A ton of people have shown up. The lineup got pretty full today. It’s been a fun day.
