Hot Water

Travis’s Beast Night-time Trophy Snook (Looks just under 40 inches)

The water temperature at Pier 60 is now up to 87 degrees.  That’s bathtub hot!  The fish thriving in these waters are doing it by staying in the cooler, oxygenated areas down in the thermocline, or where water flow is strong and consistent.  During the nighttime the fish become more active, because the temperatures cool down.  At night you may find big snook on the outer edges of the passes, and on the beaches. Daytime snook are found down at the bottom of the thermocline.  Make sure your in the right spot, get your bait on the bottom with a couple split shots, fish during the right tide and moon phase, make sure your drag is set for battle, and hold on.
